It's Whoop Whoop Friday over at Confessions of a Fabric Addict, so here goes!
Yesterday I finished quilting Not Your Grandmother's Log Cabin. Today I trimmed it so it's ready to bind.
Whoop Whoop!
But then...I couldn't find the fabric I'd set aside for the binding!
Uh Oh.
It's not like I can go out and buy more fabric.
Even if we had a quilt shop in the vicinity, I'm on a "fabric fast" for 5 more months! Drat!
After a brief panic, logic kicked in and I thought of my UFO cupboard. Maybe I'd tucked the fabric in there? It's kind of a UFO...
Whoop Whoop! Let the happy dance commence!
Not only was it there...it was already made into a binding, ready to sew onto the quilt!
The quilt is under the foot of my machine, ready to go, but I somehow got distracted and worked on my Scrappy Plus quilt instead.
Sometimes that's how I roll...
See the empty pincushions? There are approximately a million pins in play here.
In addition to using all the pins in my cushions, I've emptied two boxes and started on a third. After this project I'm changing to a stickier fabric on my design wall FOR SURE!!!
Here is a similar shot in normal mode: poor lighting, and all. My apologies, but the sun when down!
It was my birthday yesterday, and my mom gave me quite a treat!
Lucky me!!!
New fabric without breaking my "Fabriholics Anonymous" pledge!
Can I get a Whoop Whoop! (Last one, I promise! Ha!)
Try, Learn, Grow!

Happy Birthday! Wow that is some undertaking on the scrappy plus quilt. Are those 2 1/2" blocks? I love the colors of your not your grandmothers quilt very pretty.
ReplyDeleteThey are 2 1/2" squares! I have so many scraps begging to be used, so it made sense to dive right in. Perhaps I need my head examined??? :) :) :)
DeleteYour Plus Sign quilt looks fantastic!!!
ReplyDeleteThank you! I can't wait until it all comes together - love how the look changes when the "bits" are pieced into a whole.
DeleteYou are on a major roll! Whoop, whoop!
ReplyDeleteWish I had a mom that quilted!!
Happy Birthday beautiful lady!
Lol! Yep, my Mom does know what I need/desire/lust after, that's for sure. :) Thanks, there's nothing better than a (birth)day of quilting that ends with a family feast cooked by someone else!!
DeleteHappy birthday (a little late), and congratulations on five years!
ReplyDeleteI love the quilt on your design wall! Beautiful rich colors--very happy-making.
