It's My Birthday!

Today is my birthday, and it fills me with joy!

Many people dread getting older, but it's my goal to stick around for a long time.

After facing cancer five years ago I feel enormously blessed and thankful to be in this sweet world!

My birthday is spent in gratitude as I soak up life's every day gifts, mindful of my blessings.

Flowers from one of my sons brought sunshine into my day!
I love doing normal, everyday things with deep appreciation on my birthday.

Today I quilted!

This baby's been waiting on my frame for a week, and I've been itching to get at it. The piecing and fabrics are so busy that the quilting won't show, so I opted to use a pantograph instead of doing custom quilting.

The quilting shows most on the solid borders. I used a light thread so it would blend in and "disappear" on the piecing. I didn't want the quilting to take over and detract from the star burst design of the quilt.

Instead of running out of bobbin thread smack in the middle of the quilt, EVERY SINGLE BOBBIN ran out while I was basting the edge of the quilt!!! What a fantastic treat!!!
Finishing this is one of my February goals. Looks like I'm gonna make it!

Fresh off the Frame

These came in the mail yesterday - Happy Birthday to me!

I'm on a fabric diet, but that doesn't include books - yay!!!

I'm off to a birthday celebration with my family tonight, so I'll leave you to enjoy these gorgeous flowers!
