2014 Pantone Quilt Challenge: Radiant Orchid!

Adrianne from On the Windy Side, and Anne from  play crafts  teamed up to host the 2014 Pantone Quilt Challenge: Radiant Orchid

I'm excited to be entering Scrappy Plus in the Quilts category!!

Quilt Details

Scrappy Plus measures 52 x 68 inches, and features a mix of batiks, cotton prints and solids, and even a fabric I screen printed in a class with Rayna Gillman.

Over-sized floating plus signs on the back are a playful nod to the design on the front, and an improv pieced strip uses up leftovers and completes the back. Dark brown binding with a rich purple flange wraps things up.

  1. Hi Carol, thanks for dropping by my blog at RunningHen.blogspot.com . I know what your husband means about "taking over the world" with your quilt/art. It's all I can do to contain mine! My husband graciously agreed to let me take over the master bedroom :)

  2. I see I'm not the only one who likes to mix and match my quilting cottons with my batiks! They work so well together, so congrats on this finish. Oh, and I agree with both you and Julie (comment above) about taking over the kitchen, then bedroom, then house, then the world with our art! Haha Let it multiply!

    1. Thanks! Is mixing the two against the rules? - bahahaha...rules! YES, let's take over the wORLd! (Are you familiar with Pinky and the Brain?) I'm feeling particularly sparkly today thanks to your visit MS! Love your energy. :)

    1. Thanks! I think of this as my gypsy quilt....earthy and rich, but with a touch of excitement and special magic. Thanks again for offering such a fun challenge, Adrianne!

    1. Thanks! I also love the back. Even though I was impatient while piecing it, I'm glad I needed to be creative to make the fabric "stretch". Thank you, too, for the fun challenge, Anne!
